Many people look at their homes as lifelong investments. Much time is given in choosing the perfect location, walls, appliances, and furniture. Furniture can make or break a home. Mismatched couches greet your mornings with an eyesore, oversized dinner sets can make your dining area feel crowded, and uncomfortable beds make you wish you didn't need to sleep. Today, one of the more popular furniture choices are those which are made from wicker. The wicker was once a very weak furniture. They are not meant for the harsh weather, as they will be ruined. However, with the new version, wicker can withstand almost anything. You no longer have to keep them inside as this beautiful furniture can be now displayed outdoors. Wicker is not a type of material but a style of sewing together materials such as Rattan, Bamboo, Reed, Cane, and Paper Fiber. Although popular, these do not make all weather wicker furniture. Highly improved technologies now introduce to us Resin and Viro Fiber which produce wicker furniture that is resistant to rain, snow, sun, and the like. - Resin or polypropylene resin is a new synthetic property and was made to withstand heat, fading, cracking, and discoloring. It neither rots nor rusts which means that you never have to repaint it; unless your objective is simply to change your furniture's design. Using Resin will ensure that your furniture is durable and moist resistant. - Viro Fiber is a high quality synthetic fiber which is polyethylene-based making your furniture very strong and flexible. It can withstand tremendous temperature and weather changes. This material is resistant to UV light, salt water, and chlorine making it one of the easiest to maintain materials out in the market. There are many who fear that their furniture will get dirty or smudged. This is more likely for white or lighter color furniture. White wicker is not an exception. However, Resin and Viro Fiber will not get you worried anymore. These type of materials are not difficult to clean and their color will not fade if washed often. You can use soap and water to clean them and with fewer difficulties, you will have your wicker outdoor furniture new every time. How would you know that the wicker you are buying is a quality product? The label all weather wicker alone will not be able to ensure this. Therefore, you need to make sure: - Low-priced all weather wicker furniture may not be one hundred percent made out of all weather material. Check to see whether or not the frame is made of lower quality materials such as Rattan or Bamboo. If this is the case, you may want to think twice about buying the furniture as Rattan, Bamboo, and other similar materials are susceptible to rotting and decay. - There should not be loose weavings as this will make way for loose ends. Premature damages tend to start this way. - Try to avoid expensive white wicker furniture if you have children or pets. Although they are tough, constant abuse will leave marks here and there. Permanent markers are difficult to wash off even on Viro Fiber and Resin. - Check to see if the leg bottoms have protection to avoid damage to your flooring. If the furniture doesn't come with casters, you may want to immediately avail yourself of one before setting your chairs and tables on expensive flooring. Wicker patio furniture is at its best when coupled with softer textures such as pillows, cushions, or rugs. Choose contrasting colors to add a little life or keep things at a complement to imbibe a more classy touch. Furniture should be kept in a cohesive scale to ensure that no chair or table will overwhelm the other pieces. In the end, enjoy the process of choosing your wicker furniture. With so many designs and styles to choose from, you are sure to find one that intertwine quality, budget, and will best epitomize your personality.
