Bingo in the United Kingdom

The game of bingo is actually derived from the lottery game played in Italy in 15th century. The lottery game is still played but it is not too much popular as bingo. Because of the popularity of the bingo game, it quickly spread throughout the European continent. The game actually becomes known as bingo from the twentieth century in America. However the format of game is totally changed. The toy salesman has prepared six thousand cards with different number combinations on them and marketed the game as bingo. Today the game is popular in many parts of the world. Lots of internet bingo halls are also available where thousands of people play bingo every day and free bingo game is also offered.
Nowadays there are two versions of bingo game is played. The version of bingo called ninety number bingo is played in the United Kingdom and Australia which differs from the seventy five number version played in America. The British bingo card consists of nine columns and three rows without letters. Each row contains five numbers which ranges from one to ninety. The remaining spaces are left blank. A caller calls out random numbers one at a time as they are selected. All the players mark the numbers in their bingo cards as they are called. Games can be for one row, two rows or a coverall consisting of all three rows. This is sometimes referred to as a “full house”. The player who complete the specific number of rows first calls out “bingo” and then caller checks it card for verification.
If player has completed pattern then he or she is rewarded with the prize or money depending on where the game is being played. In some bingo halls big board is used where the selected number is light up so all the players can know which number is called by caller and mark in their tickets. Players usually play bingo with more than one card. Because the simple logic behind this is more cards increase your chance of winning. However the cost of playing game is also increase. It depends on player to choose the how many cards he or she wants to buy. Because you have to quick enough mark the number called by caller in all cards otherwise there is no meaning of playing with more cards. They can buy single books or multiple books of cards. Single books contain ten cards, one on each page. Different colors are used for each card on page. The colors are lime, gold, yellow, violet, grey, pink, blue, orange, red and white.
A multiple book contains the cards equal to six single books. Multiple book contain six cards per page where each page is a different color. Players can also buy flyers, which are single sheets of six cards. The player places the cards under a screen and uses a dauber or a marker to mark the screen over the number when it is called. The dauber is a squeeze bottle of ink with a sponge on the top. Inverting the bottle and daubing leaves a mark on the screen. Use of daubers and markers helps the player to remember which numbers are marked and which are remaining so they can check the card to be sure that no number have been left. The game continues until one player completes the required row. When any player calls bingo, play stops and the player’s card is checked against the board. The winner receives a prize or cash. There has to be a winner for every game so you might as well play and enjoy your self.
