Lil Wayne is Not so Lil Anymore

By: Music Expert

Everybody is talking about him, even President Barrack Obama talks about him. And yes it’s true; there is nothing so little about Lil Wayne anymore. This American- Grammy winning award rapper had been entertaining many since he had reached his teenage years. On cam and off cam, this rapper always creates a big bang which often causes others to talk about him. With so many controversies surrounding him, you can say that he is painting the town with his rapping talents and colorful way of living.

Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. was born September 27, 1982. He grew up in the streets of Hollygrove neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana and had shown immense talent as he was able to write his first rap song at the age of eight. When he met Bryan Williams, a famous rapper and the owner of the Cash Money Records at the age of eleven, it was the start of his career. Lil Wayne started out recording freestyle rap on William’s answering machine and never had thought that he will end up as a Grammy award winner.

His music may be good but we could not say the same thing when it comes to his education. At the young age of 14, Lil Wayne had dropped out of school and decided to pursue his blossoming rap career. Luckily, he got successful with his chosen path but as what President Barrack Obama said not everybody will be as lucky as him and should therefore make education as a priority.

The Block is Hot is the first debut solo album of Lil Wayne. It was released in 1999. But the peak of his career was in 2004 where he released the album Tha Carter. It was followed with two subsequent albums which is Tha Carter II in 2005 and Tha Carter III in 2008. It was Tha Carter III that had given him eight Grammy Awards nominations. Something that he can really be proud of since not all artist are gifted enough to be nominated in the prestigious Grammy Awards let alone get eight nominations with just one album.

The future looks bright for him as he is planning to release another album this 2010. The album title Rebirth should have been out in the market this year but due to some unexpected events, it was later on postponed to February 1, 2010. Many fans are also awaiting the release of the planned Tha Crater IV which will surely be another great ht and record breaker.

His song “On fire” is already one of the most downloaded songs on the internet. We can expect a lot more hits from this rapper. Time and time again he had proven that his choice on dropping out of school to pursue his passion is right. No matter how many criticisms are headed to his way, he always emerges as one of the best. And it only goes to show when it comes to rap, there is nothing little about Lil Wayne.
