One cannot overemphasize the importance of chairs. Almost everywhere you go, you can see chairs of various designs, height, and other attributes. Through the years chair designs have increased exponentially. This is very much true today that younger generation of consumers is looking for chairs that are designed with old school elegance and the uniqueness of contemporary design. To date, there are hundreds of different chairs if not on the thousands already. In fact, they are so numerous that there is at least one chair starting with every letter in the alphabet except the letters Q and U. But sooner or later, it can be expected that a new chair type will come which will be given a name starting with the letters Q and U. Furnishing your home does not necessarily mean that you have to shell out a lifetime’s worth of savings to transform it into a brand-new look. Good home decor can be affordable and one of the cheapest ways of furnishing your home is putting some chairs. The reason behind this wide diversity of chair types is the fact that chairs are designed specifically for certain uses. For example, a barber chair is a type of chair. It is designed with a swivel feature to make it easier for barbers to navigate around plus its height can be adjusted easily. It is also usually equipped with footrests. Another type of chair is the barstool. As its name implies, it is commonly found on bars and counters. These chairs may either have back support or none. There are also barstools that swivel. Beach chairs on the other hand are used on the beach. They are used to provide comfort and protection from the sun, sand, rain, or wind. Then there are beanbag chairs, which are good for relaxing and also lounging on. There are also chairs that can be used by more than one person. Benches, which can be commonly found on parks and other similar places, are simple chairs, which may have a back support, or not. These can be made out of wood, metal, or concrete and since these are commonly left outdoors, these are not upholstered. The beanbag also have unparalleled extreme comfort an cool. It is also an excellent accent piece with the wide range of designs, materials, and styles. Another type of chair is the corner chair, which as its name suggest is made to fit into a corner. It is designed with a rectangular base and a high back on two adjacent sides. There are also chairs that are made for babies. The high chair type is created for babies. They usually come with a detachable tray. Once a very popular piece of furniture back in the '60s and '70s, the beanbag experienced a renaissance of sorts in the '90s as a preferred piece of furniture especially by the youth market. There are also chairs that are designed to massage. This type of chair is obviously called the massage chair. These are the chairs equipped with electromechanical devices that massage the occupant. And X-chair is even in existence; it is a chair with an X-shaped frame. And if there’s an X-chair, there is bound to be a Y-chair, which is a chair with a Y-shaped frame. Z is for Zaisu, a Japanese legless chair.
